This was my daughter's first purchase. Diane did a great job with my daughter, and made me completely comfortable making this purchase from 1,500 miles away. Diane followed up with my daughter after the sale to be sure she knew where to send the first mortgage payment, first HOA payment, and a reminder to switch the utilities. What a joy to work with! Diane did an excellent job for us when we purchased our first home in the Bay Area. We found Diane through an ex-colleague who became an agent for San Francisco, and who recommended Diane for us because we were in the Peninsula. We actually started our search by going to open house for several months but did not come across any agents that fit us. We decided to go with Diane upon first meeting because of her deep knowledge of the area, her patience with us who are new in the area, and her professionalism. She pays attention to details, understands thoroughly what the buyers' needs are, and only presents properties that have a good chance of matching those requirements. Since the market was recovering and we have very specific requirements, the process took many twists and turns but eventually we found and purchased the right, excellent property at a very fair price. During this whole long process Diane had always been extra-supportive of us and really gone through the distance for us. I will highly recommend Diane to anyone.

I am delighted to recommend Diane Schmitz to you. My husband and I moved to California from the east coast last summer. We rented an apartment in Palo Alto for the first six months so that we could get to know the neighborhoods and get some sense of real estate prices (actually surreal estate prices, as I like to call it in these parts!). During the winter break I began to do the research on the project and that's when I discovered Diane. I had been calling various realtors in the area. I remember telling my husband that I could tell from the phone calls alone that Diane was by far the most professional one I had come across.
When we met with Diane she drove us around various properties. Other realtors simply sent us email listings and told us to go look at them ourselves and let them know if we liked anything from the outside, in which case they would arrange to show us the inside. One of them actually said that she only needs to sell six houses a year to make a very good living. It was clear that some of them didn't put much effort into it. Diane is just the opposite. She took us around in her car to anything we were remotely interested in. We got the place we finally bought only because Diane was willing to show us the inside at 9:00 PM on a Sunday on a holiday weekend when she had just returned from a long trip. Afterwards she took us to her office, late that night, to write up the contract. If it hadn't been for that, we would undoubtedly have missed the place. She also took the trouble to get to know us and our lifestyle so that she would have a sense of what we would like or dislike. While it's in any realtor's interest to make a quick sale, Diane on the other hand told us when she thought a house was not suitable for us. As were looking at one place, she stated "this one is not for you guys, let's go."
Throughout the process Diane took great care of us and answered our many dumb questions. We were first-time buyers. She continued to work closely with us even after the purchase was completed. On our closing date, which was my husband's birthday, she put balloons and cookies in our new place. On our moving day, she brought lunch for us and the movers. When my father passed away two months later, she sent a sympathy card.
She grew up in this area and has an extensive knowledge of the options whether your budget is large or small. The inspector that she recommended was also fabulous.
I recommend Diane to you with the highest of praise and the deepest of confidence.
